SBI Muscat facilitates for opening the following types of Deposit Accounts with authorised branches of State Bank of India in India :-

  • Non-Resident External (NRE) Rupee Account.  

  • Non-Resident Ordinary (NRO) Account.  

  • Foreign Currency Non-Resident (FCNR) Account.  

  • Resident Foreign Currency (RFC) Account for returning Indians.

The following Original documents are required for opening the accounts in India:-

  • Passport (First page, Visa Page & Last Page)

  • Valid Resident Permit

  • Foreign / Indian address proof- Passport/ Telephone Bill/ Electricity Bill / Letter from the employer

  • PAN / FORM 60 (for opening NRO Accounts)

  • Two recent passport size photographs

  • Initial deposit amount of INR 5,000/- (equivalent OMR)

SBI, Muscat will provide you Internet Banking Kit (with Viewing Rights only) for your proposed account in India. This will be activated once the account is opened in India.

Opening of account may take three to five weeks depending on the location of your proposed branch in India.

 

Pass Book, Cheque Book and ATM Card will come to SBI Muscat (you can collect the same from SBI Muscat) or sent directly to your Indian or overseas address, as per your choice.

The Password (PIN) of ATM card will be sent to your proposed Branch in India only; you can collect the same from your proposed branch in India.

Loans to NRIs by State Bank of India in India 

State Bank of India in India offer several loan schemes to buy a car or home for your family back in India, or to tide over unforeseen financial needs. You can leverage your future income, existing assets, NRE/FCNR deposits etc as security for the loan.

For availing the loan with State Bank of India in India, SBI Muscat facilitates for attestation of the following Documents:-  

  • Passport (First page, Visa Page & Last Page)  

  • Valid Resident Permit

  • Employment contract

  • Salary Certificate

  • Other Relevant Loan Documents as advised by Branches in India

For enabling SBI Muscat to attest the True copy of the documents, the following items are required:-

  • Original Documents

  • Attested copy of the Complete Commercial Registration (CR) Certificate of the Company where the Applicant is employed along with the Attested copy of the English Translation of the same.

  • Attested copy of the List of Authorised Signatories of the Company where the Applicant is employed along with the Attested copy of the English Translation of the same.
